bullet Bolder Boulder:  Held each Memorial Day the Bolder Boulder is the 2nd largest running race in the USA and the 6th largest in the world. More than 150,000 spectators watch the 50,000 plus runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers, as well as professional racing teams from all over the world. http://bolderboulder.com

bullet Boulder Laboratories: Boulder is renowned for science and technology and the Boulder Laboratories along with NCAR are two major government supported centers. Boulder Laboratories is home to NIST, NOAA and NTIA, and you can find out probably more than you need or want to know, by visiting these websites, http://boulder.nist.gov/, http://boulder.noaa.gov/ and www.its.bldrdoc.gov/. All of them give public tours but the one we enjoy the most is NOAA at the new David Skaggs Research Center where they concentrate on weather and climate related phenomena. The climax to this tour is to see real recorded planetary events projected on to a large sphere. It is fun for both adults and children. More about the tour is on http://boulder.noaa.gov/bldr_info.html.  NCAR information can be found at www.ncar.ucar.edu/.

bulletBoulder Farmer's Market: The largest farmers market in Colorado, located in the heart of downtown Boulder next to Central Park on 13th Street between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue, is open Saturdays 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4 - 8 p.m. from early April to Halloween http://boulderfarmers.org

bulletThe Boulder Library: As you would expect from a university town like Boulder , its Public Library is a tremendous resource. You can visit the Library and see what is going on through its website at www.boulder.lib.co.us/. We particularly enjoy the free concerts given on a Sunday afternoon. A full listing of the concert programs can be found at www.boulder.lib.co.us/calendar/concerts.html.

bulletCU Music Department:  For all you lovers of opera, classical music and jazz, the CU Music Department caters to all your tastes and needs. Check it out at the website www.colorado.edu/music/. We particularly enjoy the faculty concerts held on most Tuesday evenings; see www.colorado.edu/music/events/tuesdays.html for more details. There are many other activities also going on at CU and to sample these you should visit the main campus website at www.colorado.edu
